Recommendation Sets

Recommendation sets are customizable, in-the-moment articles and information embedded throughout your website to help your users as they need it. Think of them like personalized landing pages for your Resource Center. For example, you could create unique recommendation sets for:

  • Advanced articles targeted to your power users.
  • Getting started articles for new users.
  • Custom marketing campaigns to highlight new features on specific pages.

You can create multiple recommendation sets for specific pages, or you can create a single recommendation set for your entire site. It's up to you how detailed you want to be.

If you don't know how detailed you want your recommendation sets, use the Resource Center Autopilot feature. This lets Amplitude decide which articles are most relevant for users.

Create a recommendation set

  1. Click Create New.

  2. Enter a name for the Resource Center recommendation set. Choose something short and descriptive.

  3. On the Build tab, click the link drop-down icon to select one of the following actions:

    • Visit link: A URL link to a website page.
    • Click element: Select an element on the page and make it selectable.
    • Run callback: Select a callback key.
    • Open third-party chat: Opens a chat window for your user to connect with a third-party provider.
    • Show Guide: Opens a specific guide.
    • Show Survey: Opens a specific survey.
    • Open article: Opens a specific article.
    • Play video: Opens a specific video.
  4. For your chosen action, enter the specific information to connect to your recommendation set.

For example, if you choose Visit link, enter the web page URL. You may also have options to open the link in the same tab or in a new tab.

  5. Enter a label for your link. Resource Center uses the label as the link title in the recommendation set.

  6. Click Save.
