What it is
Description: Customers can now designate Test Users for Guides and Surveys directly in project settings, so specific users, devices, or cohorts on mobile automatically enter test mode to preview and QA guides and surveys live on-device — without publishing to production users. This solves the pain of validating mobile guides and surveys during install and debugging without risking exposure to a real audience.
Why: Previously, testing guides and surveys on a mobile device was a manual, per-guide chore: entering debug mode on-device was cumbersome, and test users could only be set one guide or survey at a time. Now Test Users is a single project-level setting — customers add users by device ID, user ID, or cohort once, and those users automatically enter test mode on iOS and Android to browse, trigger, and verify any guide or survey live, with production users never affected. The result is faster install validation, safer pre-launch QA, and a consistent testing experience across web and mobile, including in the EU data center.
